I am currently compiling a series of images on the theme of transience and time. These are a selection of images taken over a number of years, which I'm continuing to add to.
It could be said that all photographic images bear a sense of time, being of a particular moment. However, for this project I am more concerned with those images that convey the essence of time passing - mutability and chance and perhaps fragility being elements.
I usually find my most satisfactory images are those that just seem to happen, and are caught by the eye of the camera. I don't go out at the crack of dawn to capture the perfect sunrise. Occasionally though I set something up, like the tarnished christening mug in an old case.
Some of the images below seem to go in pairs.
